Tetraria

Tetraria is a group co-led by two of the most prominent young artists in the music scene of Chicago. Drawing from a wide range of musical traditions and personal histories, the group blends original composition with fearless improvisation to redefine the artistic aesthetic of Black American Music, reflecting both the experiences and influences of their generation. Marion Mallard and Jayden Richardson—first formed Terraria during their participation in the prestigious Betty Carter Jazz Ahead residency at the Kennedy Center, where they found a creative chemistry with the other musicians present based on trust and an undeniable hunger to create. Together, they channel that connection into a singular voice, one that speaks to where the music has been, where it is now, and where it is boldly headed next.
