Chicago-based bassist, composer, producer, and bandleader Jeremiah Hunt has spent more than a decade establishing himself as a distinctive voice in the city's jazz community. Rooted in the jazz tradition while drawing inspiration from groove, spirituality, philosophy, and contemporary improvisation, Hunt's music explores the balance between structure and freedom, individuality and collective expression.

In September 2026, Hunt leads his own ensemble at the Chicago Jazz Festival, presenting a program that brings together original compositions and music by some of the artists who have shaped his musical development. His forthcoming debut album, Uzazi, features Isaiah Collier, Richard Johnson, Bobby Broom, Jonathan Pinson, Marquis Hill, G. Thomas Allen, and Sarah Marie Young. Recorded during a period of profound personal and creative reflection, Uzazi explores themes of duality, consciousness, transformation, and connection.
